Habitat: Unknown in the wild (most likely originating in Madagascar)
Notes: Nicknamed the “Teddy Bear” palm due to the fuzzy red-brown tomentum on the crownshaft and spadix, it is well established in cultivation despite being lost in the wild. Similar to the “Red Neck” palm D. lastelliana.
Cold Hardiness: The more cold tolerant of the two fuzzy Madagascar beauties.
