Habitat: Madagascar

Notes:  The largest of the Dypsis, with a huge columnar trunk. Many different forms are the subject of botanical work, as it has many variations with differing degrees of cold tolerance. Outstanding landscape palm.

Cold Hardiness: Various degrees of success with the different forms, but its robust nature allows it to survive a good spot in the temperate garden.
