Habitat: Ryukyu Islands, Japan

Notes:  A spectacularly ornamental species with a white trunk and a contrasting dark purple crownshaft. Sun and salt tolerant, it is a landscaper’s delight. 

Cold Hardiness: Some degree of cold tolerance, but a stable mild climate is it’s preferred environment.
